Et tu, Bina??

I have never been a girl’s girl. My college ‘gear’ had been loose t-shirts and baggy jeans, a huge backpack which people thought was surgically attached to my behind, a chunky watch and floaters with socks. Hair was long with messy curls.

I glanced at a full-length mirror on the way back from a client meeting today and did a double take. Man, I look different! Pin-striped trousers with a floral Van Heusen shirt, a classy clean Rado watch, pointed brown formal shoes , a delicate diamond ring and a super-chic PVC bag. Dear lord, what has gotten into me? Whatever happened to the boho I used to be. My sister says I’ve turned chick-y and I don’t even wince. I even dig the chick flicks..am I becoming bourgeoisie??

Maybe not. I still dig my cotton pyjamas, the sheer comfort of Friday dressing, turning up at clubs in denims and flat sandals, drinking like I’m still a teenager, guzzling beer at ’shady’ joints, turning up my nose at offers to pay for my dinner, cussing loudly at anyone who dares to get funny with me on the streets…

Nah! I’m not turning lady-like anytime soon. The white wine and the chic wardrobe are purely incidental :-)

True… i like to think of it this way – when we were kids… our parents backed us with all the “rokda” now it’s us that have to back us – selves with the rokda… hence gettin suited and booted up to make that rokda to have that same joy that we had (read as guzzling beer, which also reminds its been a long time).. does make sense… tell ur sister to stop talkin she’s more girly/chicky that you are and that multiplied by a 100 or even worse a million times…. :P

Hahahaa! I was the same 3 years ago. My bro used to call me “a hippie at home” because I dressed up so weird.

Never become a chick-y-chick. Stay the way you are! Or rather, stay the way you want to.
